Is it Bacon?  Is it an Insect?  Nooo!   It’s SpyderPig, of course!!

Special shape balloons come in all shapes and sizes. In fact, in last year’s Fiesta, there were 106 special shape balloons out the nearly 550 balloon entries. New special shape entries in 2015 numbered 17, and included:

“Lottie Dottie Chicken” – designed after a blue chicken

“Black Sheep”- just as it sounds

“Neptuno”- an underwater seahorse

“Splash”- a penguin

“Pirate Ship”- a gigantic pirate ship

“Cyclope”- a purple monster

“Little Dog”- A suspender wearing pup standing upright

“Keystone Willy”- a white mustache sheriff

“Tri-Birds”- A three-headed toucan

“Sonic”- the Hedgehog

“Walkinon Air”- A pair of flip flops walking on a balloon

“Little Giraffe”- the upper extremity of a beautiful giraffe

“Dream Catcher”- A butterfly flying in a field of tulips

Special shape balloons are a fan favorite now at Fiesta. They participate in the early morning ascensions as well as their own evening glow events–referred to as the “Special Shape Glowdeo”.

Be sure to pick up a program to see all of the balloons entered in the 45th annual Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Fiesta which will be held in early October.
